West Friendship, MD — Ryan O’Connor, Republican candidate for Howard County Council District 5, today announced he has received the endorsement of the Howard County Association of REALTORS® (HCAR).
“I’m honored to have the support of the Howard County Association of REALTORS®,” said O’Connor. “The men and women of HCAR work with families every day who are trying to achieve the dream of homeownership in Howard County. They see firsthand how rising costs, higher taxes, and regulatory burdens are putting that dream out of reach for too many people. On the Council, I’ll fight for policies that make it easier for families to afford to live here—not harder.”
HCAR represents real estate professionals across Howard County who assist buyers, sellers, and renters in navigating the local housing market.
O’Connor, a lifelong Howard County resident and Glenelg High School graduate, is running to succeed retiring Councilman David Yungmann in District 5. A finance professional and father of three children in Howard County Public Schools, O’Connor has centered his campaign on fiscal accountability, quality education, and preserving the character of western Howard County’s communities.
The general election is November 3, 2026.
