Fighting For District 5 Families.
For too long, Howard County's budget has grown faster than families can keep up—while development pressures threaten the rural character and school quality that drew us here in the first place. District 5 needs a voice on the Council who will push back.
As a Glenelg High School graduate now raising three kids in West Friendship, I've spent my career in finance and risk management, holding organizations accountable for results and balanced decision-making. I'm running to bring that same discipline to county government—and to protect what makes western Howard County special.
That's the leadership I'll bring to the County Council.
Strong Schools – managing growth so our classrooms aren't overwhelmed and every child gets the education Howard County is known for
Lower Taxes – demanding fiscal discipline so families and small businesses aren't taxed out of the community they love
Safe Communities – ensuring our neighborhoods have the responsive police, fire, and rescue services we depend on
Let's protect Howard County—together.

Trusted. Across party lines & all across Howard County.
We moved to Clarksville for the schools and the space to raise our kids. Ryan gets why that matters—because he made the same choice.
Too many politicians treat western Howard County like it's just more land to develop. Ryan will be the check we need on the Council to protect what makes this community special.
He's not a politician. He's a neighbor who's ready to fight for us.

I've watched Howard County's budget grow year after year while families struggle to keep up with taxes. Ryan's background in finance tells me he'll actually scrutinize the numbers—not just rubber-stamp spending increases.
District 5 needs someone who understands that every dollar comes from a taxpayer.
Ryan is that person.

I've known Ryan since his days at Glenelg High School. He's the real deal—someone who's stayed connected to this community his whole life, not someone who showed up to run for office.
Howard County deserves a council member who understands our way of life and will protect it. That's Ryan.

Rooted in District 5.
Ryan O'Connor isn't just running for District 5—he's from here, raised his family here, and has spent his life investing in this community.
Homegrown
Ryan grew up in Ellicott City, graduated from Glenelg High School in 1996, and now lives in West Friendship with his wife and three kids. He chose Howard County for the same reasons you did—and he'll protect it.
Fiscal Discipline
With an MBA in Finance and two decades structuring complex energy transactions, Ryan knows how to create value and put smart money to work. He'll bring that discipline to county government
Neighbor First
From leading his HOA to directing Howard County Boys Club Lacrosse, Ryan has spent years serving the community—not building a political resume.
The Fight Ahead
District 5 deserves a council member who understands why families chose Howard County—and will fight to protect it from overdevelopment, rising taxes, and policies that don't fit our community.
